Projects are the implementation arm of IPEC. Every project is aligned with one or more Excellence Committees and contributes to institutional improvement through research, implementation, innovation and measurable outcomes.

01 — Project lifecycle

Eight stages, in this order.

The sequence is the discipline. Research without measurement produces opinion; implementation without knowledge capture produces work that has to be done again.

Idea

A problem is identified by an institution, a committee or a field programme.

Research

The problem is characterised with evidence before a solution is proposed.

Pilot

A bounded test in a small number of real institutions.

Implementation

Deployment with institutional ownership, not external delivery.

Measurement

Assessment against outcome measures agreed before the work began.

Knowledge Capture

Documentation of what worked, what did not, and under which conditions.

Publication

Release into the Knowledge Hub so others need not repeat the work.

Scaling

Extension to further institutions, districts and states.

On results

Project pages record objectives, geography, beneficiaries, partners, activities and the measures against which progress will be judged. Where measured results do not yet exist, the page says so rather than substituting a participation figure for an outcome. Impact data will be published as implementation progresses.
