06 — Domain of excellence

Global Diplomacy Excellence

Extending the work of the other five domains beyond national boundaries — in both directions.

Purpose

Indian educational innovation deserves a wider audience, and Indian institutions deserve ready access to international practice. The Committee exists to make both routine rather than exceptional.

Vision

To create a worldwide network that strengthens international understanding, educational cooperation, knowledge exchange and collaborative innovation, connecting Indian institutions with global partners.

Mission

To promote international collaboration in education, research, institutional partnerships, cultural exchange and global policy dialogue — engaging educators, students, researchers, professionals, policymakers, alumni and diaspora communities in building long-term partnerships that advance education and sustainable development.

01 — The social case

Why this matters.

Educational innovation is developed in parallel across many countries and shared far too slowly. Institutions in India and elsewhere repeat work that has already been done, while genuinely transferable practice remains locked inside national systems.
  • 01Limited institutional access to international practice
  • 02Indian educational innovation under-represented globally
  • 03Fragmented and personality-dependent international partnerships
  • 04Few structured pathways for student and faculty mobility
  • 05Weak links between diaspora expertise and domestic institutions
  • 06Collaboration concentrated in a small number of elite institutions

02 — The institutional case

What it returns.

Structured international collaboration strengthens research quality, institutional reputation and the employability of graduates, while giving partners abroad access to work at genuine scale.
  • International institutional partnerships
  • Collaborative research projects
  • Student and faculty mobility
  • Global learning communities
  • Increased international visibility
  • Access to comparative evidence and practice

In short

The Committee builds enduring institutional relationships — joint research, curriculum collaboration, faculty and student exchange, and shared publication — so that international collaboration outlasts the individuals who initiated it.

03 — Strategic objectives

What the committee is working towards.

  • 01Academic Diplomacy — university, school and research partnerships
  • 02Knowledge Diplomacy — global sharing of educational resources, multilingual content and best practice
  • 03Science and Innovation Diplomacy — collaborative research, emerging technologies and innovation ecosystems
  • 04Cultural and Civilisational Dialogue — intercultural understanding through education, languages, heritage and shared values
  • 05Development Diplomacy — partnerships supporting the Sustainable Development Goals and institutional strengthening, particularly in the Global South
  • 06Diaspora and Institutional Diplomacy — engaging diaspora professionals, alumni and international experts in enduring networks
